ICARIA DUO

Helena and Catherine met whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

After a few years performing together in various different musical outfits, they formed Icaria Duo as a way to explore the flute and harp repertoire and to provide opportunity to commission new works. They were recently chosen to premiere and record a piece by Richard Bissill which resulted in a number of performances throughout London. In 2016 they were selected as Tunnell Trust award winners and they will be embarking on a tour of Scotland in March 2017.

Catherine and Helena both have busy freelance careers and have worked individually with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, Halle Orchestra, Royal Opera House, BBC Concert Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
